The Teaching and Learning Team:

  • develops and facilitate professional learning for all staff: teachers, para-educators and administrators;

  • ensures alignment between curriculum, instruction, and assessment;

  • selects and support teachers with instructional resources;

  • collaborates with community agencies and outside resources to provide additional resources;

  • write, monitor and manage grants.

Services that we Provide Principals and Schools:

  • present school-based professional learning opportunities;

  • provide embedded professional learning through coplanning, coteaching, modeling, and coaching teachers;

  • focus support with first and second year teachers;

  • serve as mentors to second year teachers;

  • secure and recommend resources;

  • assist with major initiatives;

  • serve as a liaison between district staff and schools;

Support for Parents and Community

The Teaching and Learning department provides public access to curriculum documents. This accessibility links parents to information teachers use to help students succeed in the classroom.

Georgia Milestones Assessment System

The purposes of the Georgia Student Assessment Program are to measure student achievement of the state-mandated curriculum, to identify students failing to achieve mastery of content, to provide teachers with diagnostic information, and to assist school systems in identifying strengths and weaknesses in order to establish priorities in planning educational programs.

Georgia Home Classroom is a collaboration between GPB Education and Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) to support at-home learning for students in Pre-K through 12th grade, including digital learning resources and an instructional broadcast schedule.
