Lincoln County Schools has issued a critical immunization notice for all students ahead of the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.
Under Georgia law, public school students must submit an up-to-date Georgia Immunization Form 3231 before classes begin on August 5, 2026. Valid medical or religious exemptions are the only permitted exceptions to this requirement.
Parents should review the specific mandates targeting students entering benchmark grade levels:
7th Grade Entry: All rising seventh graders must provide proof of receiving the Tdap (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis) booster and the MCV4 (meningitis) vaccine.
11th Grade Entry: Effective for the 2026–2027 academic year, all students entering or transferring into the eleventh grade must show proof of a meningococcal booster shot (MCV4). This booster is required unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.
The district's baseline required immunization checklist includes vaccines protecting against:
Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B
MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
MCV4 (Meningitis)
Pneumococcal disease
Poliomyelitis (Polio)
DTap (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)
Varicella (Chickenpox)
Families are urged to schedule immunization appointments immediately to avoid enrollment delays.
To fulfill these mandatory requirements, you can contact your Primary Care Physician or schedule an appointment directly with the Lincoln County Health Department at 706-359-3154. Completed records must be documented on Form 3231.
